When You Finish Saving the World

The cringe is strong in this one (in a good way actually). Jesse Eisenberg’s essence is palpable in the screenplay, you can hear him speaking through Julianne Moore and Flinn Wolfhard. Anyway, agree with everyone that the music is fantastic. And overall interesting directorial debut! Would have wanted a bit more something something from the screenplay.

You're telling me that Julia's been a master of body horror for a whole decade at this point?
Amazing first film and the start of her journey into the exploration of the changing female body.

    Spirited Away

    Nostalgia scores another one! 🤍
If I had to say which was my first (movie) true love it would be Spirited Away. I must have been 10 years old when I watched this movie on repeat non stop. Studio Ghibli’s animation is pure magic, and the love that pours out of this film is unmatched (Totoro being a close 2nd).
I’m happy I have the opportunity to coexist with this film. 💚

PS: I, too, was completely in love with Haku when I was 10.

Beautifully empathetic yet the story feels hollow. It compensates the stillness with a fabulous cinematography 💚

The nostalgia hit me like a high-speed rail. My mom too used to read me these books making voices for the characters. ⚡️

Wonderful reunion, fantastic way to welcome the new year. Mischief Managed! 🧙🪄

    Home Alone

I’m going to re-write this script and the following will happen:

    - Kevin is enjoying the whole “hurting the bad guys” thing
    - the mother makes it home, but Kevin doesn’t like it

It’ll be a true Christmas Horror. Wait for it.

Beautiful, even magestic, but 155 minutes for half a book’s content? 😖

  • The Card Counter

    The Card Counter

The plot of this movie reminded me of a hurricane.

You see and feel the winds coming, all the heaviness in the air. Then for a while it gets quite intense. You can actually see the wind and the rain. But then, silence. You can feel the sun, the winds have stopped. And you enjoy it for what it is: the eye of the hurricane. You know the thunder will be back. But you expect it.

Oscar Isaac was magnificent. He controlled this storm.
