    This movie hit me in a way that I haven't been hit since watching Donnie Darko at 14 years old. I can't think of anything quite like it, particularly its uncomfortably pitch-dark premise that somehow doesn't overshadow the genuine, innocent sweetness of its characters. Wholly original, disturbingly relatable.

    Way too much padding with B-list celebrity interviews that added little value, but the actually informative documentary parts were pretty interesting. I'm from Family Video country, but Blockbuster's close enough.

    A compassionate, tender, and, above all, dignified portrayal of an invisible, misunderstood population. It was interesting that the circumstances that led to the main character's nomadic lifestyle were apolitical, but I think this was also a fine choice on the filmmaker's part. Powerful in its patient pacing, Nomaland's at its most riveting when it has no plot to move forward.

    I'm a huge Eric Andre fan, and this did not disappoint—but it did surprise me in its wholesomeness. Okay, so wholesomeness is a sliding scale, but I was really touched by the way the pranks were carried out at only the cast's expense. Each of the targets ended up looking kind, generous, and sweet in a way that rang not only hopeful, but true. That's the toughest trick a prank film can pull off, and makes this final edit stand…
