    Bo Burnham: Inside

During my inpatient stay, during one particular class, if I can remember this correctly, we talked about music. We talked about how with music we often turn on certain songs and tunes to fit our moods, to improve them. In other words, we turn on happy songs to become happier. We turn on energetic songs to get more pumped up. We then talked about how it's strange we turn on sad or painful songs yet they don't necessarily make us…

I have this habit of seeing what's popular and going, "Wow, I'm sure that's great!" and then putting on something else. I totally miss the pop-culture bus (or, I'm months/years ahead of it) and am often last in line to share their thoughts. Case in point: in the Christian community everyone's talking about The Chosen, which I'm just sleeping on for several reasons other than just, "I'm sure it's great." and people keep asking me my opinion of it. Big oof

At least Matthew Lillard is always fun to watch on screen. And, man, it's crazy watching someone who can intensely perform be in a movie where everyone else is kinda just... has a lot of room to improve.

And the intro CGI looks terrible but some of the effects look pretty good at times! I think the biggest issue comes in how the Martians move. They don't move like anything real that could ever exist, but whatever. This movie's a blast!

Still, Tim Burton always feels like he's proud…

There's a character named Dwight in this movie and you don't understand how funny that is until you see the directors name.

    Thank me later.

I kept thinking to myself, "This is really frustrating." and I think that's because - and I know a lot of people say this but I genuinely mean it based on the films history and the experience of watching this film - there's a better film in here.

I think this comes down to Disney not caring about The New Mutants (a novel thought, amirite?), but the level to which they don't care is a little bothersome to me. That…
