Phoenix Clouden’s review published on Letterboxd:
"If what I think is happening, is happening... it better not be."
This is the first film I've seen in Wes Andersen's filmography, and it certainly won't be the last. What a delightfully wild and clever film filled with pomp and circumstance wrapped up in a stop-motion animatronic heist caper.
This was genuinely funny. Anderson's whip-smart dialogue flowed naturally off the tongue of George Clooney and made for some truly memorable moments in this film.
The dynamic between Ash and Kristofferson may have been my favorite parts of this movie. Their dynamic was adversarial and hilarious, and made for some of the strongest humor in the film.
Willem Dafoe as a psychotic rat is literally all I've ever wanted out of life.
This was a blast. So happy to cross this off my watchlist and can't wait to watch it again.
