"Remember the animation in the early 2000s when everything looked real, but wrong?"

This had no business being as good as it was. Was it outlandish, and over-the-top, and probably way more serious than it had any right to be? Absolutely. Did all of that work? Hell yeah.

I didn't even watch Chip n' Dale growing up. I was more of a Darkwing kind of guy (#WeWantDarkwing), but this was hilarious. Full of meta commentary that you could tell was not written with children in mind. This was for the millennials. We grew up with this shit, this was our entire childhood. If you watched at least 3 of these shows, this movie had you bought in by the opening scene.

Andy Samberg and John Mulaney were absolute perfection and as always, J.K Simmons stole the show. This was a hoot. A great cornucopia of my childhood that I can share with friends my own age. (Screw you, little kid.)

On top of that, they managed to have a fun, worthwhile story along with it. Yeah, most of it was played for gags, but still really well done. For a movie that definitely had low expectations, they were still pretty well exceeded.
