After a long break from posting a review, I am making one for a stop-motion animation film about Jesus that barely anyone I know has actually watched. But overall, this film was surprisingly good, and I especially loved the animation, specifically the hand-drawn art they used made for some really incredible sequences. Along with the animation, this film got me caring quite a lot about some of the characters, this especially showed when I actually got really tense and emotionally…

    Raya and the Last Dragon

    ★★½

This film is fine but it suffers from a few problems that bring the whole experience down. Firstly, there are way too many characters, by the time the guy from spine is introduced there is literally no actual room for him to develop and us to learn about him, most of the side characters suffer from this issue as we kind of just waltz between kingdoms without really getting to know them all too well outside of their backstory. This…

I legit screamed when monkey Abraham Lincoln appeared.

    12 Angry Men

    ★★★★★

Very gripping, great and realized characters, and it is really cathartic to see everyone slowly supporting Henry Fonda as the film progresses. Considering that this film came out in the 50s, it has a lot to say about racism and xenophobia, and those messages are well carried out in the really great scene when they all turn their backs on the racist guy. Overall, an exceptional film with a multitude of great scenes.

  • Treasure Planet

    Treasure Planet

    ★★★

Though this has one of the best villains to come out of Disney, as a whole it is not as exceptional as its said to be, and though I love the side characters, the forced romance between Doppler and Amelia was weird and completely unnecessary.

Comedy gold with the one of the best character arcs to come out of Walt Disney Animation, and some of the best and funniest side characters in Animation as a whole.

  • Edge of Tomorrow

    Edge of Tomorrow

    ★★★★½

I enjoyed this movie so much that I really wanted to give it five stars, though despite how much I tried I just could not really get invested in Emily Blunt’s character, I never got the sense that she felt any emotion or had anything going on besides being just a no-nonsense soldier. Plus, I occasionally found some of the side characters quite annoying and some of the crude humour towards the beginning did not really land with me. But…

  • The Avengers

    The Avengers

    ★★★½

I really enjoyed this, it has better action than the typical Marvel movie, and it improved some of the characters that I did not like originally, especially Black Widow and Bruce Banner. Though I feel like Loki was not as three-dimensional of a character as he was in Thor, and I would have liked if he was less traditionally evil and had more of an internal conflict. But overall, I definitely understand its popularity and I had a good time watching it.

  • Thor

    Thor

    ★★

This film manages to be the most funny Marvel movie I have seen so far out of pure ironic enjoyment. This film is hilariously goofy at times, mainly because of Anthony Hopkins and Chris Hemsworth's performances, though when the film is not being goofy it mainly is being just kind of lame, especially with the stuff on earth and the Asgardian side characters. The one thing I unironically enjoyed about this film was Loki, his performance is great and he is quite a good character with strong motivations. Overall, I liked it more than Iron Man 2.

Not really any criticisms I can give to this film, it is just a magical experience and anything that is not great is really solid.

Very gripping, brilliant acting, and made me cry on many occasions. I could not get this film out of my head for the first few days after watching it.
