The original 1941 animated film is a classic. It was the first film I ever saw in a cinema. It has a lot of heart and soul. It's also a animated masterpiece. The story feels like lots of scenes that seems stitched together. The character of Dumbo is very underwhelming, to the point that I forgot that the story was meant to be about him. Due to the flat script, the human characters…
This is a slow burn mini series with a lot of complexity. I was hooked from the first minute. The story is well written and compelling. I liked how it tackled religious extremism and alcoholism in a horror. I love the use of hymns throughout the series. The quotations from the book of revelations was used to great sinister effect. This should have been a 90 minute documentary film about the tragic death of Elisa Lam and how her mental health was a contributing factor. Instead we get a 4 part documentary series and is more interested in the bullshit conspiracy theories by the online sleuths and the backstory of the Cecil Hotel. This documentary series felt very crass and should little respect to Elisa's family.
The original film "She's All That" (which this film is a gender flipping remake off) was a quirky teen romantic comedy from 1999 that had a charismatic lead performance by Freddie Prinze Jr.
This remake was painfully bad. The script was vomit inducing bad. The acting was shockingly awful. This isn't a film, it's punishment.
