5. One director I really want to see more of is Shinya Tsukamoto. I was really impressed by Tetsuo: The Iron Man, and if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Watch a film directed by Shinya Tsukamoto.

Wasn't quite sure how to get in the mood for a film with the logline of:

A “metal fetishist”, driven mad by the maggots wriggling in the wound he’s made to embed metal into his flesh, runs out into the night and is accidentally run down by a Japanese businessman and his girlfriend.

But I jumped into it with both feet today.

It kind of felt like chewing on tinfoil.

(Whilst nightmare walking through throbbing urban decay to a soundtrack of a 90s industrial band). Chu Ishikawa's musical contribution to this film is staggering.
There's some Geiger-esque visuals, Lynchian vibes, and the drill! Ha!

It's fucking relentless.
And assaulting.
