So, back when I was... let's say 10 years old, I saw the Tim Burton remake starring Johnny Depp... multiple times. I knew that there was some sort of "original" version of this movie, but silly me never saw it until now. Aged 19.
Anyway, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory is great. The story is basically the exact same from the version I already saw, BUT it doesn't have Gene Wilder. It doesn't have the heart of this version.
It's a fun adventure full of loveable details and Wilder's great performance. And of course there are those Oompa-Loompas which don't have the same face copy-pasted like in the remake.
