    Spider-Man: No Way Home

    ★★★

Ok I haven’t been logging stuff on here so I’m doing some catch up lol, I saw this in either very late December or very early January I can’t remember!

Anyways all three stars and the like are for Willem Dafoe. I went and saw this with my mom and brother because idk Spider Man is cool this should be fun! Then as the movie was starting up I suddenly remembered that Willem Dafoe was assuredly going to be in…

I had a fantastic time watching this. Also I know that Willem Daofe was absolutely tickled to see the rotting decapitated skull prop they made of him. It certainly made me laugh!

  • The Spiral Staircase

    The Spiral Staircase

    ★★★½

The Cinephile Society is back fellas, and for my first visit this season I saw The Spiral Staircase. My grandfather loves this movie, so the second it was over I called him and we just talked about how fun it was! I’ll give it credit - I wasn’t really surprised by the reveal of the killer but I wasn’t expecting it either so props! It wasn’t the movie’s focus by any means but I loved the elegant simplicity of the…

I was gonna give this 3.5 stars yesterday but after a day of hardcore thinking I realized that I liked this a lot more after dwelling on it a bit!! Was surprised that the infamous “hospital scene” is literally the first thing we see in the movie. It’s extremely jarring after watching Shinji unlock the truth of his self worth and value in episode 26 and then…this. Watching NERV get completely decimated in like minutes was a bummer lol. And…

This was a lot of fun. It took me about a month and a half to watch, and I really really enjoyed it!! I don’t think it really impacted me on a serious emotional level like it did a lot of other people, but I loved most of the characters and I loved watching it! When the second half of the show started nosediving into weird abstract territory I was like “oh man here we go lol,” but I ended…

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

    ★★★★½

It took me two watches to warm up to this lol, but I fully loved this movie. When I first watched it I was very affronted for some reason - I remember thinking “come on man I already know how she died, I didn’t have to see this!!” But LMAO I watched it again and totally loved it. I watched this literally the day after I finished Twin Peaks so I think that probably had something to do with it;…

This was the greatest TV pilot I’ve ever seen in my life. 90 minutes flew by so quickly because this was such a joy to watch!! The opening scene pulled me in and I was hooked instantly. Like it’s impossible to see Pete discovering Laura’s body and NOT want to find out who killed her!! The clear standout for me in the pilot is easily Grace Zabriskie. Her performance cuts right through the surreal atmosphere of Twin Peaks and feels…

    ★★★★½

I forgot that I watched this movie a while back while I was doing a little project on it for a class lol. I love it so much!!! Cannot express how impressed I am by Christoph Waltz’s performance every single time. And Jamie Foxx too!! Their characters are some of the most wonderfully human to come from Tarantino and it’s a delight to watch their relationship progress. Also Tarantino NEVER MISSES with the soundtrack!! Beautiful selections king!!

  • Reservoir Dogs

    Reservoir Dogs

I’m obsessed with this movie. It was the first Tarantino film I ever watched and it’ll always be perfection in my eyes. It grabs your attention instantly and holds it for the entire runtime!! If I can be candid - I’m in love with the entire cast of this movie. I can’t even name a standout because they’re all so damn good!! (Okay maybe I can and it’s Steve Buscemi.) This is always gonna be one of my favorites and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. It’s perfect entertainment!!

  • Jackie Brown

    Jackie Brown

    ★★★★★

I dare say this might be Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece. It’s touching, sensitive, and thrilling all at once, and it’s so much fun to watch!! While I was watching I could really feel how much Tarantino loves Jackie as a character, and Pam Grier did an amazing job bringing her to life. Robert Forster is perfectly sweet, and the king Samuel L Jackson is wonderfully evil. His character is probably the one that I paid the most attention to this time…

I loved this a lot. I’m not quite sure what to say about it, but Max Von Sydow was incredible. The final shot was magic!! (I had to write a paper about this movie and it was actually a lot of fun!)

I got really bad at logging movies here lmao. Well I watched Reservoir Dogs with my brother who was seeing it for the first time! It was even better than I remembered (I haven’t seen it since I first watched it in 2016 lmao) and Steve Buscemi was perfection obviously. This movie is actually the reason why I love him unconditionally, so I’ll always owe QT for that. The soundtrack is delightful too - it and the movie are all-time favorites!!
