Oliver Welch’s review published on Letterboxd:
The epitome of style over substance. Suspiria is an awfully dated, irritating, and pretentious giallo horror cult classic that knows little about building fear in its audience and relies on an oversaturated color palette and an overbearing score (louder doesn’t mean scarier) to make us feel as worried and vulnerable as its characters. And despite being well-shot, the dubbing and writing are so bad and clearly unintentional as a stylistic choice. Overall, this movie is extremely overrated, and I do hope Luca Guadagnino has created something much more substantial in his new remake.
