I seem to appreciate Halloween more each year. The simplicity of plot and direction, its legacy, Jamie Lee and Donald's performance and Carpenter's score, that ranks among the best of the genre. The Shape is a creep, the deaths are effective and the pumpkins are enormous.
It shows my age that noticed the nicely tended nature strips and spacious, tree lined streets. Haddonfield, Illinois looks like a dead nice place to raise a family... Happy Halloween y'all!
