Moved really fast for a 7 1/2 hours, had some incredibly gripping and beautiful scenes. In fact the scene in which the child takes the rat poison brought me to tears which is one thing done really well throughout the film. This movie allows you to connect with characters with very little dialogue, of course this can be attributed to the fantastic cinematography. So close to perfect but the cat scene was completely unnecessary, especially for a film form 1994.
I may write a longer review in the morning but for now I’ll lay awake all night thinking about what I just watched.
UPDATE: maybe the best score of all time
