    I have sinned. Prior to watching John Wick: Chapter 4, I was unable to watch the second and third installments in the revered franchise due to time constraints and general laziness. And I can say with utmost conviction that I was absolutely wrong and hate myself with utter contempt.

    Unfortunately, I will never be able to experience the intendedly shocking plot twists of Prisoners again, but maybe that's a good thing. The primary problem with Prisoners stems from its inability to create meaningful moments of tension and disturbing revelation, where it's too busy trying to be constantly shocking and exhaustively sustaining an omnipresent sense of dread to actually refrain in order to deliver the next big moment with an even bigger punch.
