"It's time to show Kong that man is king!" - Preston Packard
These have to be some of the prettiest visuals I've seen in a blockbuster in a while. Vibrant colors galore. Add on top of that great cinematography, editing, and sound design, and you have yourself a thrill for the senses.
Yeah, if I'm being completely honest, the characters and writing were as bland as a box of unsalted frackers, but really, who can care about that when Kong's beating the shit out of helicopters and various creatures while using assorted wrestling movies.
At the end of the day, Kong: Skull Island is a rare film where the style is its substance. (By the way, the director of this film will be helming the Metal Gear Solid film and I couldn't be more excited. It's in good hands.)
