Robert Stewart’s review published on Letterboxd:
So this isn’t as good as part one after all, but it IS the one where they perfect the Freddy formula for one movie: the perfect blend of witty AND scary.
The story here is really great. From the Dream Warriors aspect to Freddy picking off kids labeled as mentally unwell and making it look like suicide. This direction for the Krueger mythos makes a lot of sense.
Then there is the Freddy skeleton stuff… that makes less sense and feels a bit silly. Some of the acting is stiff here, too.
