    Quite simply one of the best scripts I've seen - indescribably clever, funny, melancholic, any other words one can use to describe a good noir script. One of the best casts too, I can't imagine anyone but Mitchum and Douglas in these roles. My main problem is the unnecessary kinda rough romance side plot and seemingly unmemorability. But while you're watching it, it's one of the best viewing experiences you can grab.
