    Suburban Castle Freak.

The new blueprint for a midnight madness face melter.

There are so many things in this movie genre lovers will pick up on. Part Cravens People Under The Stairs part Stuart Gordon’s Castle Freak. Plus a killer little nod to Angst (1983) that felt like it was put it there for freaks like me.

It’s hard for a movie to surprise me but it did that and then some. One of my favorite horror movies of the last couple…

    Look under the bed…”

Liminal spaces created from the hellscapes that is our mind. Sometimes the horrors of inside the home are far scarier than any outside horrors. The fear of something more sinister is lurking right behind you while you race up the stairs. The sense that a pair of eyes creep around the corner of the doorway and watch your every move. Frozen under the covers wondering if that was a shadow you saw or something far worse.…

I finally got around to reading the original book. It quickly turned into one of my all time favorites. I appreciate how the book deals with the detective work / mental health side of things a lot more than the movie does. But after almost 27 years and countless times watching this, I think I finally “get it”. Clicked with me this go around more than any other time I’ve seen it. The ultimate good vs evil and war on…

    Is your war finally over?”

Well, I think we just got the best Godzilla movie to date. Incredibly human, anti-war, and our favorite amphibious boy is back to being utterly terrifying. Never has a Zilla movie had this much emotion behind it. I was absolutely bawling by the final couple minutes. A stone cold spectacle to behold. I can’t imagine Godzilla getting much better than this.

When the OG theme hit, I transcended the plane of existence.

Don’t tell me to listen to your band if you don’t play “Symphonic, post- apocalyptic, reindeer grinding, Christ abusing, extreme war pagan, Fennoscandic metal.”

It’s 1:30am as I type this and tears are trickling down my face...

To say the least, Hereditary is the most personal film I’ve ever seen. Cathartic, a true purging of my own personal demons and a cleansing.

I was the black sheep since day one. Doomed to be my parents failed science experiment. Even through all my OWN personal struggles, I can’t help but to think my parents passed down their anxiety, their overthinking, their need to feel accepted…
