I finally got around to reading the original book. It quickly turned into one of my all time favorites. I appreciate how the book deals with the detective work / mental health side of things a lot more than the movie does. “Is your war finally over?”
Well, I think we just got the best Godzilla movie to date. Incredibly human, anti-war, and our favorite amphibious boy is back to being utterly terrifying. Never has a Zilla movie had this much emotion behind it. I was absolutely bawling by the final couple minutes. A stone cold spectacle to behold. I can’t imagine Godzilla getting much better than this.
When the OG theme hit, I transcended the plane of existence.

To say the least, Hereditary is the most personal film I’ve ever seen. Cathartic, a true purging of my own personal demons and a cleansing.
