The Street Fighter's Last Revenge 1974
Equally good as the second one: it lacks gore (although there are still some cool ideas), but instead has better plot.

Archons 2018
Cool little horror gem: drugs + Robert Johnson's devilish vibes. Lots of things to appreciate here: breathtaking landscapes, good acting, psychedelic touches here and there, suspense, final plot twist. Movies like that should be blockbuster hits, not all of the shit that comes to cinemas nowadays.

Bully 2001
I've always had a special bond with Larry Clark's cinema. There's enough to be said about the filmmaker, a lot of which I address (together with my personal "connection" to his work) in this three-part video series I made a while back* where I talk about all of his movies.
I hadn't seen Bully in forever, so I was curious to see how I'd feel about it now, rewatching it again after all those years. And I wasn't disappointed. Sure,…

Sisu 2022
Some kind of modern macaroni combat or spaghetti war, but served cold by Jalmari "Rare Exports" Helander. For me, it's a slightly different and better film than the trailer suggested. I was mostly surprised how silent this movie was (very little dialogues, almost no music). There were also many references: Euro War genre, Gothic Westerns, Rambo(-sploitation), Sam Peckinpah's Cross of Iron and even Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove... Yeap, the climax is extremely cartoonish, so love it or hate it.

Good Bye, Till Tomorrow 1960
Romans na kilka pięknych chwil, czyli Harlequin i Colombina po polsku. Mam duży sentyment do tego filmu i ciągle bardzo lubię jego romantyzm – naiwny, trochę pretensjonalny, bardzo szczery. Zdobiony nastrojową muzyką Krzysztofa Komedy, plenerami Gdańska lat 60., ironicznym dowcipem, poetyckimi dialogami i krótkimi przedstawieniami teatru pantomimy (wystawienie miniaturowego spektaklu ‘Harlequin’ to ciągle jedna z moich ulubionych scen w historii polskiego kina). Podoba mi się naturalność w uchwyceniu lekkości przypadkowej znajomości, a także marzycielstwa i wygłupów głównego bohatera. Błazen wyśnił…

Slave of the Cannibal God 1978
Animal cruelty, gory mutilations, bestiality, bare tits, pussy close-ups, adventure - yes kids, that was the happy, carefree image of Italian cannibal genre before Deodato spoiled it all.

As Above, So Below 2014
I'm not really sure how I feel about this movie. I thought it's gonna be totally shitty, but actually there was something fascinating about it. I love parisian catacombs and urban exploitation, so the whole set and the atmosphere got me enchanted. Same with the occult symbolism and Dante's Inferno theme. And even though I hate found footage, it left me thinking about it.
On the other hand I know it was rather silly and oh, those dumb, annoying characters, lame ending and some jumpscare shit. I prefer other visions of Hell (Baskin!). Nevertheless, the idea was quite original consider the time it was released. -
Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot! 1967
I've wanted to watch this for a decade or even longer, but for some reason I've always put it off for later. So here it is - the most violent spaghetti western ever made (although Spanish Cut-Throats Nine was for sure gorier). I didn't appreciate too much other Questi's effort - the godardesque giallo Death Laid an Egg (I might give it another try some day) - and I must say that this one, being also quite experimental from narrative…

Inferno 1980
BFI Southbank. My second favourite Argento, after 'Suspiria', is now also my second Argento, after 'Suspiria', that I saw on a big screen. There were relatively many people laughing at the film during its most irrational and pulpy moments, taking them, I presume, for B-movie cheesiness. Bastards.
To paraphrase the words of the immortal Lucio Fulci, 'Inferno' rejects the rules of a traditional construction as it is a set of pure themes and images not aiming at mirroring our reality.…

Alice in Wonderland: An X-Rated Musical Fantasy 1976
Alice goes porn. And musical, at times. Because why not?
Properly eccentric and trashy. Rather monotonous (well...), but also full of joy and humour. In its own peculiar way, it manages to capture the anarchic spirit of the original novel.
'Why do I have to fuck to get out of this movie?'

Menace II Society 1993
“ You acting real paranoid and shit. Now, these motherfuckers smoked your goddam cousin in front of you, nigga! Blew his head off in front of your face, and you ain't gonna do shit? You acting like a little bitch right now, nigga. Man, fuck that. I ain't letting that shit ride. We gonna go in and smoke all these motherfuckers. I don't care who the fuck out there. Goddamn it, is you down, nigga? “
The quote literally sums…

Day of Purification 1970
– Ty, stary zwariował…
– A ja bym zjadł schabowego z kapustą.Kuriozalna propagandówka Passendorfera, łącząca przekaz ideologiczny z wartką akcją i efektowną warstwą kina awanturniczo-wojennego oraz pewnymi naleciałościami westernu. Działający w Beskidach (imitowanych przez Karkonosze z ruinami Chojnika) oddział AK stopniowo przełamuje niechęć do towarzyszy radzieckich (niebywale wyrozumiałych, cierpliwych i grzecznych). W tle sercowe rozterki niejakiej Maryny, rozdartej między mężem – szorstkim podhalańskim maczo w etno-portkach (Wróblik z Janosika), a Saszą – szarmanckim i wrażliwym krasnoarmiejcem (recytującym z pamięci…
