Permanent Vacation

Permanent Vacation ★★★½

If Jarmusch’s filmography could be compared to a wide-ranging and diverse food menu, this is the unassuming appetizer that gives everyone at the table an idea of what’s to come without really bowling anyone over. I guess that makes “The Dead Don’t Die” the desert that sounds really good on paper, but ends up disappointing most people in your party.

John Lurie is literally on screen for about a minute to noodle on a saxophone, and it rules.
