Genuinely deserves a hard R rating. Severed arms and toes dripping blood; flayed skin of enslaved children flapping in the breeze; Indy drinking blood; Mola Ram ripping beating hearts out of chests as the body bursts into flame; all under the safe comfort of a PG rating. So many kids have been traumatized by this including me. But what began as trauma has become undying love. Call it Stockholm syndrome but this is one of my favorite films. I just can’t quit it. Yeah it’s not perfect but it’s charms have fully won me over and won’t ever let me go.
