God this rules so hard lol. Its so funny to me how much a lot of the MCU diehards have complained about the plot or the writing here for the past few months and granted it's not the best but it's not like any other movie in this franchise has a Coen Brothers level script or something. Even compared to a lot of other MCU movies this one really stands out in its writing because of how entirely separate it feels in its tone and structure and creativity (the spirit cape thing still gets me wowed).
And like, when the style present is that fucking good here who gives a shit about the writing. Coz this is definitely the first MCU movie since Thor: The Dark World maybe that really does look like it cost nine-digit dollars to make. And it helps that Raimi maintains the breakneck pace and tension with the right amounts of release and character work.
Just brilliant stuff. Come back to me a year or two later when everyone realizes how good this movie is, ala Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2.
ALSO appreciated Olsen's performance a lot more this time around. Even more than the first time.
