Never before in my life have I sat in a worse seat than in the front row all the way to the left, but El Royale made it 100x better. I had no expectations for this but it proved to be the one of the most entertaining, crowd-pleasing movie of 2018 thus far, with some layers underneath and a beating heart to match. Shoutout to Xavier Dolan but Jon Hamm stole the show, Chris Hemsworth stole my heart, and Cynthia Erivo took the cake and ate it too.
