Men Behind the Sun 1988
A fairly effective and disturbing exploitation film relying on its raw presentation, lacking music and style in general. It cannot really surpass ☆☆☆ as it's basically just a string of events with no characters or goals.

Equation to an Unknown 1980
Quite a trip watching a hardcore adult film in a packed house at the New Beverly, especially given the theaters history as a porn theater back in the day. This one defiantly felt like it was hanging it’s hat (or hard ons?) on being an “art film” and some of the compositions, edit, sound effects and music choices are trying to elevate the on-screen sex, for which there is plenty.
Very lo-Fi Kubrickian at points too. -

Trains Equal Cinema 2021
Through expertly crafted neon visuals accompanied by familiar auditory ambience, 'Trains Equal Cinema' explores how our living time is spent on this Earth, with simplistic yet effective fading text to resonantly reflect on the emotional weight of cinema.
Unique, thoughtful and genuine. Exactly what film should be, regardless of production and scope.
Also, always great to see something made by an active member of the Letterboxd community, definitely looking forward to more of your work, NB! -
