For a film that is essentially Matthew McConaughey fucking around for 90 Minutes, there’s something endearing about it’s non-existent structure and free-flowing editing that makes it an entertaining and very funny watch, especially if you’re high.

A nice little piece you've got here, the writing is decent, as is the acting. The camera work is mostly well done. The only few things I can pick up on is the audio quality and also some mess ups in the editing. With the right equipment this would be great.
Keep up the work and I look forward to seeing more of your things.

I feel completely obliged to give this 5 stars because of how cold the film is and how stripped down it is, but despite this, it is one of the most engaging films I've ever seen. In 2001, you make the movie; it acts as a catalyst for a nirvana. The visuals are one with the music and maybe more important, as the music plays before any visuals appear and the music is by itself long after the credits have rolled. It's almost like the magnificent compositions themselves were the screenplay and to have such magnificent visuals accompanying them is the icing on the cake.

The word “masterpiece” is so often overused to the point where it has lost much of its meaning when describing great works of cinema. There are less than 50 films I’ve ever seen that I would give a full five stars and consider a full-blown masterpiece, so the word itself and that rating does not lose its significance. Tim Blake Nelson’s The Grey Zone is most certainly a masterpiece and by far the greatest narrative film I’ve ever seen depicting the…

I aspire to be like Michael Stuhlbarg, in that I star in a Marvel movie, have less than one minute of screen time, serve no purpose to the plot, get credited with the rest of the main cast and receive a huge paycheck at the end of it.

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this episode by any means. I had the mindset “Expect disappointment and you won’t be disappointed.”
Holy fucking Christ I was not expecting to be that disappointed.
The main thing I can point out as a positive of the episode is that they stuck with the death sound from the 70’s.
The plot was so bland and it was never given any time to develop into anything interesting.
How does an alien time traveller with…

Neil Hannon: 30 Years of the Divine Comedy 2021

    Charleston

Rewatched by Charleston 07 Nov 2021

This is a fantastic little insight into the career and personality behind the music of 'The Divine Comedy', penned and presented by the man himself: Neil Hannon.

Having recently filled in the gaps of their discography and listened to all their albums, I can safely say 'The Divine Comedy' are one of those bands that continue to deliver. Neil Hannon has managed to constantly develop and grow as an artist whilst still keeping a recognisable style and flare that is…
