Probably one of my favorite Wes Anderson films, and animated films, of all time. The colors and the animation are utterly gorgeous and beautiful, the story is delightful, and it is full of utter whimsy. It's a lovely romp through the countryside, but of almost epic proportions. The film jaunts and runs along in the most fun of ways. I am a fan of Anderson's work, this one is one of his most fun and energetic films, running alongside "Rushmore" and "The Royal Tenenbaums" as among my favorite films of Wes Anderson's. Furthermore, it fills joyously in the Roald Dahl spirit, though perhaps more structured than anarchic. More aristocratic than proletariat but all the same, it's a great film that is high society for children.
