beautiful, rich in preciseness and detail, and absolutely stunning. yalitza aparicio is a true inspiration and cuarón is a master at what he does. while some may say that this film is slow, get past that and enjoy its true beauty. Roma balances its brutal sadness with its poignantly uplifting moments without being cheesy and gaudy, it’s long and quiet shots (sometimes of basically nothing) are too beautiful to be boring or annoying, and its characters are too real to not care about them. Roma is heartbreaking and utterly satisfying at the same time.
