I initially had no intention of watching this but ended up putting it on and committing to it. I’m not a big superhero film buff, both DC/Marvel are underwhelming in their own rights usually. I will say the hyper polished muted tones are a treat for the eyes and this honestly looks better than anything Marvel puts out. The infamous overuse of ultra slow motion is no surprise in effect as Snyder looks to make each frame look Super Bowl commercial worthy. When it comes to the plot devices, narrative, dialogue etc those components felt messy although I did not have any real deep ties or interest(keep in mind I don’t stay up with the DC universe films/comics). I may be the only one but I actually loved the decision to keep the 4:3 aspect ratio as it was initially meant for theatrical/IMAX release. It felt like watching something from the future on an old television. Ultimately this played out like a sort of 4 hour comfort film for me and an escape from reality.
