This was better than expected, seemed to have a lot of heart devoted to the musical numbers and production design, and the visual effects were surprisingly convincing compared to other Disney fare, especially compared to recent Marvel efforts. It just falls a bit flat by the end - very predictable and embracing its fairy tale tropes was ultimately a detriment to the original's more cynical sense of humour. And not nearly enough James Marsden.
