Murphy Kenefick’s review published on Letterboxd:
Incredibly competent which is another way of saying without any spark or style. Yet another well-meaning historical fiction entry that can’t fully commit to informing or storytelling so it kind of halfway does both. I know this material would be electrified if in the hands of Spike or Scorsese or really anybody who wasn’t afraid to splash in some artistic flourishes amongst all the suspense and self-importance. The Oscars will love it. And hey did you know they’re on my birthday this year? What’re the odds?
