This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

A rewatch made me realize that this is one of the best pieces of art I have ever seen.

Let me start with the line "Yes I envy him" Yūsuka says it in a play followed by a moment of silence. Momentarily he zoned to his life and the younger man that slept with his wife.

Yūsuka never confronted his wife about cheating. Instead, he tried to do the exact sex position with her as the one he caught her…

The movie is enjoyable but it doesn't give anything beyond what's already in the music of the legends. Despite depicting legends and iconic songs it doesn't give them any depth that they deserve or the hard journey they took to reach that status. With internal group fights and external fights with the police and the record labels, none had any urgency or a connection to characters with the feeling of being an observer. We were never really close to the character's internal conflicts or motives to sympathize, understand, to root for any of them.

This is the most humane thing I've ever seen in my entire life, and nothing is even close.

The more I watch it the more I realize that it's as shallow and uninteresting as a newspaper. In this regard, Wes Anderson was true to the subject at hand.

I wasn't planning to cry to this but damn how could I not.

The subject of this movie is rare and important to see in cinema, and Brendan Fraser's portrayal of Charlie is truly remarkable acting. I usually don't like the 4:3 aspect ratio, but here it works really well to make Charlie fill the whole frame. There are many great conflicts that keep unfolding as the movie progresses, and the main conflict is especially powerful, Charlie's decision to keep…
