Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ★★★★

I haven't been this thrilled by a Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame.

A lot has been said about the legendary Tony Leung. He's simply unmatched in this film and towers over everyone else. The way he acts with his eyes sends chills down my spine. Every time he's on screen I get a little jolt of excitement. But can we also talk about Fala Chen? Her scenes, though short, were easily some of my favorites. The action sequence of her and Leung is stunning and a delightful nod to Chinese martial arts. And for her to go head to head with Leung and still pull it off is a testament to her skill and charisma.

I was also pleasantly surprised by how much of the Mandarin language was used in the film. Between the language, casting, and action scenes, it was refreshing that representation wasn't awkwardly shoehorned into a Hollywood movie for once.

Morris is adorable.
