Two things I forgot to mention last time...
1. I read the book last week before watching it. I’m not a fan of Roald Dahl’s books at all. I’ve read BFG, Chocolate Factory and Matilda. I didn’t like BFG or Chocolate Factory, but hated Matilda. Overall, I just really don’t like his writing style. But I read Fantastic Mr. Fox and honestly kinda liked it. There’s still his style in it but not as crazy story wise as the other ones. The movie gets the basic idea of the book but just adds stuff. It’s a rare case of the movie of being better than the book. But the book is good, but the movie is way better. If you like the movie, check out the book. It’s really short (only 81 pages and lots of pictures).
2. The soundtrack is great! I actually listened to it Sunday night while cleaning the kitchen and was like, “oh, yeah, this is awesome!” It’s got a real nice mix. There’s some old folky stuff (“Ballad of Davy Crockett”, Burt Ives) and some 60’s rock/pop (Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones). I’m a big fan of both of those so I was loving it. Besides the music, the score is really, really fun. It’s kinda bouncy and just real chill. Truly captures the essence of the movie.
Yeah, this is going on my favorites.
