Everything I remembered it being the first time and more. Lush, gorgeous visuals. Dialogue that conveys everything without saying everything. The female gaze is astounding when you see it so truly understood and so clearly invoked. The details. The soft and the sharp. The desire. The yearning. The wondering and the knowing. That ending. Sublime.
Noémie and Adèle I will adore for the rest of my life. Céline, je ne sais pas comment je pourrais jamais vous remercier. Mais merci comme même. C’est mon cœur ici.

Genuinely funny and heartfelt with believable and enjoyable performances and a nostalgic and distinctive style. I had a great time and my packed(!) theatre did too. Da’Vine Joy Randolph forever.

Broody emo detective Batman has arrived and I, for one, am ready to give him the keys to the kingdom.

This was phenomenal. Managed to both feel like a thoughtful tribute to the comic books and a dark, gritty movie in a way that is balanced perhaps more perfectly than any previous Batman attempts. Gotham itself felt different this time around and it served the story fantastically.

The cast is phenomenal (and Rob + Zoe 🥵🥵🥵 — my only complaint…
