The most incredibly original film of the year is bold and unflinching in theme and it's presentation to the senses. Masculinity is broken down and built up in mesmerizing fashion as you follow a young man through pivotal chapters of his life. As mean and abrasive as some of it is, Moonlight shines on the good in life and hopes the reflection can reach us all in some way. It may not have been created with awards season domination in mind, but its getting my votes in just about every category.
