I feel duped... There was no singing by crawdads in this film. Although, again, I was unaware of the existence of this species until today, so perhaps they did?
The film itself was passable. It's marketed as a murder mystery, but the mystery remains unsolved unless the reason is the one mentioned in the middle of the film, in which case it's rather lame. The remainder of the film is like a really lackluster Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation or something. The performances are acceptable, but no one is given much material to work with. The photography and soundtrack may be the only true strengths, though both feel rather restraint.
All in all, though not terrible, but disappointing. There's a lot of potential, but the writing just leaves a lot to be desired.
