  This is more like it. Five years passed between RETURN OF GODZILLA and this flick, and it feels like they got together the "fun committee" (as Greg David puts it), watched the previous movies and realised how fun these movies can be - and how insane.

  I'm torn on this one. I like it because it tries to be serious, and because it tries to capture the sensibility of the original - but on the other hand, it probably shouldn't try, and also if you're trying to be serious you need better effects for your giant mutant sea louse.

  There are few movies able to so effortlessly and efficiently articulate the feelings of excitement and dread that come from visiting Sea World. This is probably the best of them.
