Austin’s review published on Letterboxd:
The abyss gazing back for too long, oozing out of the subconscious and permitting only the evil you've already allowed inside yourself. Psyches totally fractured by an amnesiac omnipotence; identities are fabrications to hide the stalking-dark, and maybe we're just a collective nightmare, waiting to exit the dream and walk in the light.
Kurosawa's perspective is steady and increasingly horrific, violence swiftly brutal until carnage is gazed upon. After all, we want longer glimpses of the monster, but maybe our eyes are too adjusted for the dark.
