James Bond: [after Bond has just lost his 10 million in the card game] "Vodka-martini."

    Bartender: "Shaken or stirred?"

James Bond: [agitated] "Do I look like I give a damn?"

Synopsis: There's a scene in the movie Dr. No, the first Bond film, where Sean Connery shoots an unarmed man in cold blood. It's straight from the book and it so shocked audiences that Bond never did it on film again. That's the deal with the Fleming books versus the…

Al Roberts: That's life. Whichever way you turn, Fate sticks out a foot to trip you.

What a fantastic little noir movie. I enjoyed every minute of this very short, but very well done low-budget movie. Tom Neal and Ann Savage are wonderful. Neal hits every note as the sad sack loser, piano playing man who fate trips up. And Savage is perfectly despicable as the venomous, blackmailing woman he unfortunately crosses paths with.

Director Edgar Ulmar is the predecessor…

Scrooge: “This is the Last Christmas”

Santa Claus: “Not if you believe“

I wanted to love this movie so much. And there’s a lot I did love. But in the end, it just never came together for me.

It’s not the cast, for the most part they’re all pretty good. It’s not the action scenes, I thought they were pretty well done. It’s the tone that just doesn’t work. It wants so badly to subvert the family fun Xmas movies…

Jack Harper: “I can't shake the feeling, that Earth, in spite of all that's happened, Earth is still my home.“

I remember liking this more when I first saw it, but I was a little more “meh” this time around.

It’s a gorgeous movie and the soundtrack is the best thing Vangelis never wrote. But the story is not very original, even if it’s well told.

Worth watching if you’re a sci-fi fan, but not sure you’ll ever need to re-watch it again.

Benoit Blanc: “It’s a dangerous thing to mistake speaking without thought as speaking the truth.”

While this follow up film to Knives Out is not quite as good, it’s still pretty damn good. Once again, Rian Johnson has a target in mind and proves his mastery of the genre.

Great cast, fun cameos and a fantastic performance from Daniel Craig who should be taken seriously when he says he loves playing Benoit Blanc, because he’s having some serious fun here.

Special shout out to Janelle Monae as well because she’s my favorite of all the secondary characters.

Uncle Boris: "Family, art, life! It will tear you in two."

I walked into this movie expecting Spielberg's Cinema Paradiso, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it a coming-of-age story. One where the young Spielberg proxy character discovers that his parents are also human. Complete with human foibles and feelings.

It's filled with great performances, especially from Michele Williams and young Gabriel LaBelle. Plus, the trademarked Spielberg touches including a fantastic production design.

I realize that movies like this…
