    Lancelot and Guinevere

In continuing Arthurian Films Studies, we find LANCELOT AND GUINEVERE (aka SWORD OF LANCELOT, which I suspect but cannot prove is a phallic symbol), a somewhat silly but colorful take on the Arthurian Legend which makes a few interesting choices. First Knight

So, this year I took the plunge and read Le Morte d'Arthur, Thomas Malory's* compendium --anthology, really-- of Arthurian legend, compiled from a variety of French and English sources and woven together into a not-wholly-consistent epic work of prose which nonetheless managed to define the tale for future generations (particularly after the resurgence of the Arthur mythos in the 19th century). The Debt Collector

An all-too-common Achilles heel of low-budget DTV action movies is that they shoot for a scale and scope that they can't possibly back up with their limited resources. So it's honestly kind of refreshing to see a relatively small-scale story about unflashy working stiffs who never get embroiled in an international conspiracy or find the fate of the world in their hands. They do still manage to constantly get into extended, no-holds-barred street fights with various gigantic opponents, of course;…
