  • Evil Dead II

    Evil Dead II

Although this is not my kind of film for what it was I loved it, the camera-work is insane and the campy special effects did it for me, the make-up is really amazing as well and the acting is so intentionally terrible it ends up being great, the image distortions and all the camera-angles are amazing and the whole film feels full of life in general, amazing work by Sam Raimi, this is already considered a cult classic and deservedly so.

The first Japanese film known to exist and a big influnce for filmmakers of that country to start adapting their own myths, legends and costumes.

  • Prisoners

Really went into this with high hopes and I was just disappointed by most of it, during the first half I was quite invested in the plot and its themes, but then everything fell short in terms of execution, it just felt like one more thriller...

Where was the depth in Loki's character?

Where was the development in all the secondary characters?

All the themes that revolved around religion felt interesting but by the end, it felt they were present…

  • Call Me by Your Name

    Call Me by Your Name

More than a film about a short doomed romance I feel this is a film about how an older man abuses and takes away the innocence of a younger boy, I do agree to a very big extent with the statement of this being a film of a predatory nature. Now the themes of loss of innocence and all that surrounds it are handled very subtlely, especially in the screenplay, the direction falls short in this department since I feel…

  • Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

This film left me exhausted, and not in a good way, everything goes way too far, no contrast to all the craziness present in the film is added and it ends up being quite disgusting and annoying at some points, great performances by Depp and Del Toro tho.

  • The Color of Pomegranates

    The Color of Pomegranates

A wonderful work of art, that's for sure, The Color of Pomegranates is something that goes beyond cinema, it is visual poetry, there is no such thing as a plot or story, well there is one, but what's so magical about this is that any possible plot or story there could be varies depending on how the viewer sees the film, of course, some possible interpretations could be figured out if one does some research about the person whose life…

  • Imperial Japanese Dance

  • Dickson Greeting

    Dickson Greeting

Dickson greets the screen and the american audiences greet cinema for the first time, now besides seeing the artistic potential cinema could have filmmakers start seeing the commercial potential as well

  • The Wave
