Zodiac ★★★★½

The meticulous detail put into the recreation of 1970's San Francisco did not go unnoticed to my eyes. This film oozes with style and intrigue. Director David Fincher's precise eye and James Vanderbilt packed screenplay make an interesting story out of one of the most notorious cases in history. Since the case is open they didn't bother filling it with bullshit to create a mystery. Instead the fear of the unknown paired with how it caused so many to descend into obsession is how he tells this mystery. In the long run the Zodiac is just the backdrop to it's riveting characters to take center stage. At 2 hours and 37 minutes this movie rarely feels overlong by keeping you engrossed until the bittersweet end.
