I’ve got to be honest, they should’ve stopped at a trilogy.
After number 3, I was unbelievably excited for this fourth instalment, but the truth is, I was severely underwhelmed.
The first two acts didn’t really hit me at all, there was an action sequence in the Japanese continental hotel that just went on for wayyyyy too long, and another in a German club that had me yawning.
However, the third act of this movie is a goddam masterpiece, the action throughout Paris was engaging and exciting and had me thoroughly entertained.
Oh and Donnie Yen, every single frame of this movie that had Donnie Yen in it was perfect, he was perfect.
Overall, this was quite disappointing, but the movie finds some redemption in its thrilling third act.
