Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
Where to even begin?
The truly jaw-dropping and creative animation styles, the humor that doesn’t feel forced, the voice cast all delivering top-notch work, the action sequences that feel like a comic book leaping off the page onto the screen, the genuine emotion and stakes and well-drawn characters, it’s everything you could ever want in a superhero movie and so much more.
I LOVE the first film, but this is one of those cases where the sequel is better than the first.
It’s one of the best comic book movies of all time and just plain one of the best films of the the year period.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 2023
It’s nice when you can tell a filmmaker in the MCU actually cares about the characters onscreen and isn’t just trying to make a by-the-numbers comic book adventure.
I loved Vol. 3 so much, and it joins the other two GOTG movies as some of the very best entries in this ever-expanding cinematic universe.
