“This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off.”
Most likely the greatest horror film that has ever been made. A complete masterpiece of atmospheric terror that lingers in your mind for days on end. Never has a film continually impressed me in the horror genre than Ridley Scott’s Alien. The only thing to come close is Carpenter’s The Thing, but still doesn’t take away from the merits that Scott and crew accomplished here. Over my numerous rewatches it’s always clear just how much actual effort and passion was put into the film; especially the production and technical crew absolutely killing it in creating this world. Not to forget the masterclass of the creators Dan O’Bannon & H. R. Giger put all their heart and effort into making. Being the greatest horror film ever made and also being one of the finest science fiction films ever made is such an impressive feat; this was Ridley Scott’s SECOND film! A masterpiece.
