You know...I can think of 100 ways to start off this review....but just like the whole Disney trilogy I can't think of a way to finish it that doesn't come off as a fanfic....the real debate is if 50 shades of grey is a better fanfic because at least it didn't ruin the lore.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Over time Star Wars has come from it's own thing, to something more akin to comic book films. While I understand and can accept scrapping the old universe, especially since I barely knew much of it. As a fan of nerd culture which most people don't seem to care about adaptions are adaptions, you don't just throw something out slap the same name on it and expect people to call it the best thing ever.
Whiile the film is for…
I have a hard time placing this film whether I like it or not, it's like half the time it's funny, the other half it goes for dumb bottom of the barrel typical modern 'American' toilet humor jokes. It's like it couldn't tell what audience it wanted, maybe it wanted both so it tried for both but in the end just ends up a 'meh' experience.
