What can I even say about The Godfather that hasn’t already been said and expounded upon explored in depth and through myriad lens?
Some different facet always stands out each watch; this time, the opening conversation and its emotional pay-off, an interaction that I felt perfectly encapsulated Vito as the Don, compared to Michael’s Old Testament ruthlessness. That baptism sequence is cinematic perfection.
I wish all three-hour movies aspired to be paced as immaculately as this; the runtime just glides by.
