I've heard people say this is better than the original but that is not the case.
However, it does feel more of a sequel to the first film than Part 2 was thanks to returning characters, more backstory for Freddy, and some sort of resolution.
This is different and inventive enough to keep the concept fresh, and has some fun effects.
7/10.
