Mondo Cinema’s review published on Letterboxd:
"Welcome to prime time bitch!"
Most fans will say that Dream Warriors is their favorite Elm Street sequel. Mondo Cinema is not most fans, as I have stated before Freddy's Revenge is my choice for best of the sequels. Dream Warriors is second best. It is a blast to watch, the effects are a step up from part 2, and the story is interesting. My issue with the movie is that it is the beginning of Freddy becoming a joke character, in later installments Freddy all but looses his aura of menace and fright, becoming more of a pop culture icon than a horror icon. This is where the one liners and gag dreams really get a start, although it works for this film, not to mention rock videos and plush Freddy dolls, it sets in motion ideas and a tone that for intents and purposes ruins the series beyond this film. Bittersweet is a term I would use to describe my feelings about the movie. On the plus side that dream nurse is smoking hot. So until next time this "bastard son of a hundred drunks" says cheers.
