  The Back to the Future sequel written by Charlie Kaufman. Weird, wild stuff. It is crazy this movie gave us all a quarter century heads up about how dark a Biff-led future would be but when the real 2015 came, we still couldn’t steer out of it.

  Chazelle directs this thing like it's going to be the last movie ever made and if so, it's a fitting epitaph for cinema. The film is fearless and Chazelle leaves it all on the field but I wish the ending landed for me.

  While I prefer Aster's nightmare surrealism to Charlie Kaufman's in Synecdoche, NY and I'm Thinking of Ending Things, he still badly needs an editor. The first forty minutes are laugh-out-loud funny but after 3 hours of Aster emptying his subconscious, just becomes exhausting. I'm glad he got this out of his system.
